ART WEEK - THURSDAY

Today was another busy and productive day:

  • We popped the balloon inside the paper mache, then cut in half to create our mask
  • The students then painted a base layer of either brown or black for the tui face
  • Once dried, they used metallic paint and painted details over top, then we glued on cotton balls to use as the white tuft under their chin
  • We used pastels to colour in the tui bird we drew yesterday, then used dye to colour in the background
FRIDAY 2PM: SHOWTIME! All whanau are invited to come and look at the art we have created. The class will be open for visitors, and we also get to walk around the other classes and see their displays. We hope to see you there :)

Today we did our last layer of paper mache for our masks. Tomorrow we will pop the balloon, cut them in half, then begin painting.
We also finished our pukeko art, they are up on the wall ready for our art display on Friday.
We then started a drawing of a tui bird with koru designs that we will use pastel and dye with tomorrow.
Busy busy C6 superstars!!
